YARNS FROM HYEM
Yarns From Hyem is our touring production of 4 short plays. This talent development strand was created to remove barriers to theatre and careers in the arts. The plays are written, performed, produced and directed by North East artists and the relatable production is toured to communities in the region, particularly those in disadvantaged areas. Our pilot production of Yarns From Hyem toured North East community and theatre venues in November 2021, supported by Arts Council England.

TOURING 4 SHORT PLAYS
In 2021, we toured a collection of four hilarious and moving short plays to community and theatre venues across the region.
The plays by both emerging and critically acclaimed writers explored the themes of love and loss.
Barbara Williams' play, Pupil Premium, was selected from an open call-out for a new writer to have their work professionally produced for the first time. Barbara's play was a huge success alongside outstanding work from established North East writers Alex Oates, Elijah Young and Julia Darling.
